Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030 was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy in partnership with the Council on Competitiveness and the Alliance to Save Energy, and released on September 16, 2015. The Roadmap is organized around two main findings: 1) There are demonstrated, proven opportunities in every part of our economy to improve energy productivity. 2) New analysis shows how energy productivity can contribute to economic growth.
From a series of regional roundtables and dialogues, as well as the modeling analyses, the report provided suggestions to federal, state, and local governments; commercial and industrial businesses; electric, gas, and water utilities; higher education institutions; and households. Finally, it concluded that doubling energy productivity by 2030 is achievable.
