Call for Abstracts Now Open!

SIMB is currently accepting abstracts for oral and poster presentations for the 39th Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals (SBFC).
Technical talks and posters make up the majority of presentations, however detailed and informative presentations regarding commercial- and demonstration-scale endeavors advancing and promoting the emerging bio-based economy are strongly encouraged.
Presenters are asked to submit their abstracts to one of the seven general research tracks listed below:
  • Renewable Feedstocks
  • Feedstock Pretreatment and Fractionation
  • Enzyme Engineering and Biochemistry
  • Strain Development, Characterization and Application
  • Synthetic and Systems Biology
  • Design and Assessment of Integrated Bioprocesses, including Separations
  • Fuels, Chemicals, and Other Bio-based Products
Two Student Poster Presentation Awards
Two poster presentation awards, one each in the areas of applied and fundamental, will be offered at SBFC. Applicants must be present during the defined poster presentation times and will be judged anonymously. Winners will each receive a certificate as well as a $500 cash award and will be recognized at the annual banquet on Thursday, May 4. Application for the awards should be made during the abstract submission process.
