Gas falls below $3 a gallon in Greensboro area

Yesterday, the gasoline price in the Greensboro area fell below $3. The same situation was observed by Charlotte Observer on Tuesday in Charlotte area  (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2014/10/14/5241288/gas-falls-below-3-a-gallon-at.html#.VEAkXeaKsxI), and by New Bern Sun Journal (http://www.newbernsj.com/news/local/relief-for-motorists-local-gas-prices-fall-below-the-3-barrier-1.387768).

Their report says that the decreasing gas price is the result of surging U.S. production, a lessening of demand elsewhere in the world, and a cheaper winter blend of fuel being used. AAA Carolina’s President David Parsons said the falling prices could remain through Thanksgiving.
